Overview
The African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child established Working Groups during its 35th Ordinary Session which was held virtually from 31 August to 08 September 2020. The Working Groups were established taking into account the challenges observed in some specific thematic areas and the need to take a systematic approach by the Committee to address these challenges sustainably. They are anchored on the principles and norms of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and the aspirations of Africa’s Agenda for Children 2040.The Working groups are composed of members of the ACERWC and external experts, except for the Working Group on Implementation of Decisions which is only composed of Members of the Committee.
